When the flower is touched, the LEDs clearly show how the scent reaches the nose and how the information is then transmitted to the brain.
Three wooden containers allow different scented objects to be hidden inside, letting children practise recognising scents in a fun, hands-on way.
Children sort what can and cannot be detected by smell, discover pleasant and unpleasant scents, and develop fine motor skills and concentration.
The Sense of Smell educational board helps children learn about the role of the nose in perceiving scents. Children discover that scents can be strong or weak, pleasant or unpleasant, or may combine several of these properties. When the flower is touched, the LEDs light up to illustrate the path of the scent from the flower to the nose and the subsequent transmission of the signal to the brain.
Three wooden containers with plastic inserts are located in the lower section. Various objects can be placed inside, allowing children to guess which scent is hidden under the cover. The board also offers sorting activities for objects that can be detected by smell and those that have no scent. Children also learn how to care for and protect their sense of smell.
The board can be used in a special Masterkidz wall frame, which allows individual educational panels to be changed easily. It can also be used independently on a table or on the floor.
