Crack inspection developer is the final component of a three-step system for the non-destructive inspection of welds and metal castings. After application, it creates clearly visible red markings that help reveal cracks, pores, holes and other material defects without damaging the surface.
The developer is designed for accurate visual quality inspection of metal surfaces, especially welds and pressure castings. It is used together with VMD 137 degreaser and VMD 138 penetrant. This procedure makes it possible to reliably locate surface defects and facilitates their subsequent repair.
Recommended application procedure:
- Degrease and clean the entire surface being inspected with VMD 137.
- Spray on a thin layer of VMD 138 and allow the penetrant to act for 15 to 20 minutes.
- Remove the VMD 138 residue by applying VMD 137 again and wait until the surface has dried.
- Spray on the VMD 139 developer and allow it to act for several minutes. Red markings will appear where metal defects are present.
Main advantages:
- Easy spray application.
- Distinctive red markings for rapid defect identification.
- Designed for use in the complete three-component system consisting of VMD 137, VMD 138 and VMD 139.
